Making stupid little flower crowns for stupid little friends who are too stupid to understand that you don't hate their stupud little heads

 Now with ArtFight truly kicked off, and me only having to deal with another power outage to make me restless for an afternoon, I think I'm starting to get into my groove for this month! Already made 10 attacks, which on the one hand? Maybe not as impressive as what some other people manage, but I'm personally happy with the pace I'm setting for myself, and I hope I can successfully draw another 20 before the month is over.

Although me having enough time and energy to draw personal stuff is going to be rare, it won't be impossible! As this week proved to me XD 

Made about four pages of concept comic pages for Bristly and Lapis, which still gives us big feelings if the fact me and my big sister still haven't gotten over this development for these idiots' relationship XD

We'll see what the next week offers us! And regardless, I'm going to look forward to what I'm about to draw next! :3 

Useless fighter vs. Defenseless coward

Taking things slow and steady. Just rebuilding whatever motivation and endurance I'm going to need for ArtFight in a few weeks.

I guess being bored and not having anything specific to be hyperfixated on is a good thing right now. Means when I am supposed to pour my heart and soul into July, I'll be biting at the bit and ready to go.

Til then, making little sketches about all the RK things me and my sister have been talking about has been good. 

Nothing like watching an entire room getting slaughtered by your Knight and political rival, only to face down someone who (for some reason) thinks you're still the most dangerous thing in the room.

Briar's been having a weird week, to say the least.  

The White Sheep of the family

Right! Now that I've properly gotten over being sick, it's now just a matter of getting the momentum to draw like I usually do. And sure, I've had some days that I've had to spend face-down on the floor, but for the most part I've been pretty content with what my hands have been finding to do.

Especially all the Rose Knight stuff I've been making:

Not a competetion, but if it was...

Had a bit of a rough week, but despite dizziness knocking me around a lot, I managed to eek out another SWH2 comic before Friday so that was good I think!

Also in-between trying to make comics, I also doodle some RK stuff. Which was an unexpected but pleasant surprise :3

Once again Lapis and Jim are my go-to nerds for easy and comforting RK characters to draw. As they should be. XD

Season of Roses; Spirit of Spring

 Despite not having drawn much for the past few weeks, the month of November seems to be half done already! And while normally I'd like to point to something I had made during the week, the only notable things I have done weren't done with pens or paper. Knitting and embroidery needles, yes! But trying to take any pictures to show off on this blog feels a little more complicated than I'm willing to commit to XD

Instead, I found a piece I made last month during a time when I was obsessively thinking about some of my RK kiddies... but in an alternative reality where some events heavily changed aspects to the characters and story as a whole. 

 

 Some of the changes and knock-on effects for this alternative story have absolutely and thoroughly enchanted me. And one of which was this piece I made in an attempt to articulate how much I loved Lapis' new flavor of friendship with one of her mates.

It's a simple lil piece, but something that still makes me very happy to look at. I was very pleased with how the colors turned out despite only working with blues, greens and pinks. I hope to do something like this again one day, if the inspiration and motivation allow it. <3

Bristly sketches

Right! I've done my best to play video games, sleep and readjust to daylight savings time, and more or less give myself every opportunity to "put down the pen and not worry about drawing for a few minutes". And there has been some success!

And then I still turn around and do stuff like this. Because of course I would. XD 

On the plus side, I think my burnout isn't as bad as it could be. And if I'm careful, maybe I can think about a big drawing project in another few days or a week.
What kind of big drawing project will remain to be seen, but the surprise won't be a bad thing. Whether it's RK, another project with my IO kiddies, or something else entirely? We'll see :3

Pink Rose Prince and Orange Rose Prince

 -AND once again I completely forgot to post on my blog after dinner! Second time in a row feels like it should be a crime, but you know what? That's fine! I still remembered before going to bed! 

SO HERE! HAZZUH! ROSE KNIGHT CONTENT!!!

I'm real pleased that I'm starting to get a feel for the other royal heirs now, which means I can draw them being supportive, weird, or weirdly supportive at each other!

Either way, drawing brightly colored idiots will always be a fun time for me XD  

All Sides of You (whever you go)

Been a busy week for me! Today feels like the first time I could properly drop some of my load and do nothing except what I wanted to do for the afternoon.

Still thinking a lot about my RK kids, in no small part to my big sister writing a ridiculous amounts of fanfiction about my characters in the first place. It's been fun getting stuck in a cycle of inspiration!

But sometimes you gotta step back and draw something that wasn't a chain reaction to anything except maybe some vibes that have started to cook in your head. This was one of them, for me! 

It's times like this that I'm incredibly grateful that past-me made the genius decision to give Jim orange freckles and yellow eyes! Which means no matter what color his hair is, he can still see every part of his soul reflected his reflection.

A little artistic symbolism with the two extreme versions of Jim's identity walking along with him don't hurt either XD 

It's not a crime if nobody sees you putting back what you didn't mean to steal in the first place

 Well!

I think my Rose Knights obsession is back into full swing again! That didn't take long XD 

I am going to credit and blame my big sister for writing so much fanfiction about all my characters literally almost every single day the past week. That was a major part of my newly fueled obsession, I think!

If the fact I'm still itching to draw more comics and sketches is any indication, I'm looking forward to see what the next week brings us all! 

RK sketches (the Hairdye trio and the royal half-brothers)

Right! It's usually at this point in the month that I realize that I've been pushing myself hard trying to draw attacks for AF, so I gotta remember it's okay to slow down and stop for a few days before picking up speed for the final leg of the month.

I'm proud of what I've accomplished so far, but gotta remember to sleep and play video games too. Just a little bit.

Dyed hair and Dragon eyes

 Well! That was a week I had!

Was it busy? *so-so gesture* I'm always busy, but I think this week I was more busy burning out and realizing I needed to rest some more before trying to go back to all of the projects and ideas I've got in my head.

I played Pokerogue a lot, and even checked out some of the fanfic writing I made in 2023! So even if I didn't achieve anything impressive, I had fun and I'm intending to revisit old stories just to stretch my brain while my creativity takes a break.

In the meantime, I'm glad I seem to always have a surplus of doodles and sketches to share every week! So enjoy the Dragon Eyed duo!

Tara Fight Stance (gif)

 Whelp! My obsession about making little gifs has reached it's climax! I've now made one for every main character in RK!

I'm proud of them all for different reasons, but I think the one I made for Tara ended up being the most technically challenging one. Which means it's also the one I like the most XD

 The hair fwishing and bright yellow colors make me very happy. Lookat her go! <3

 okay so turns out the insanity I was having last week has kept following me through the last 7 days. I've almost made a little 4-frame gif for every major RK character, which is something that has been both a fun challenge and also gratifying knowing that 13-year-old me would be so excited to see me 'animating'

 

 Regardless if I keep making little gifs, try moving onto something more 'complicated' or just go back to regular drawings and comics, I've enjoyed myself so far! :3

Lapis in Rain (gif)

 Once again I had a moment of insanity, so I decided to try making a quick gif in the span of a few hours yesterday!

Overall pretty pleased how it came out! I had no idea what I was doing, but I think it's cute.
Might do it again, if I feel like it. The simplistic coloring style I use for my RK kiddies make it very easy to do.

The Dragon Knight (and her squires)

 Somehow the last week took a thousand years to end, yet I'm still surprised now that it has

A bit busy, a bit of nothing, a bit of enrichment and the opposite of enrichment for good measure.
So overall an average week? for what it's worth?

Either way! I went insane and drew a motorcycle a few days ago!

Well actually I drew two pictures with a motorcycle, but this one is my favorite because it includes the good kiddies (as well as the other older kiddie whom I love very much)

RK + Pokemon

 Okay, so turns out I've been in Brisbane for a little longer than expected. About a week longer, I should say! XD

But even if I haven't had the chance to draw digitally all week, I've still had some sketches hiding away in my pile, so I can share those instead of nothing.

Sometimes you just gotta drawing your OCs with pokemon you think suit them, y'know?

The Rose among Thorns

 Taking a quick detour from the typical weekday shenanigans I usually have, and I'm currently in Brisbane!
Been a hot minute since I've been anywhere this big. Or anywhere PERIOD, I guess! I can't remember the last time I've gone on a trip like this.

Necroknights

Well! spent most of my free time this week working on comic projects, so I  genuinely couldn't remember if I had made any other kind of art recently

Then I saw this picture and I went "OH YEAH! I did spend an hour sketching out some Necroknights" XD

So I did do something I can share and prove I've done something this week!

Next week, however? Who knows! We'll find out when we get there

The Crown Rose Prince

 Due to a recent breakthrough in RK thanks to some good old fashioned brainstorming and desire to draw characters with a rainbow shimmer effect through their hair, I drew probably the most colorful thing I've done in probably 2-3 weeks!

And boy howdy I'm actually pretty pleased with how it turned out! Wilfred has never looked so shiny before!

In other news my hometown is experiencing some floods again thanks to a cyclone, but since it's not quite as bad as the floods we got in 2022 I'm gonna hold my breath and see what happens next! XD
