Hybrid Kangaroos with Time Travel Powers - It's a Family Occupation

GUYS
GUYS GUYS GUYS GUYS GUYS

You know how I've been complaining for years that I have no idea what Sapphire's been doing with her life after she left high-school??

I'VE FINALLY FOUND OUT WHAT SAPPHIRE'S BEEN DOING

GUYS

SHE'S A TIME TRAVELER!
SAPPHIRE'S A TIME TRAVELER TOO!!!

On the one hand this raises so many more questions but THIS ALSO EXPLAINS SO MUCH!
(Sorry, I'm just so excited about learning this, like WOW GIRL, I did not expect this from you)

Okay. So, how I found out about this is kinda... well, it made sense at the time, but trying to recount the tale might get confusing. So please bear with me, because I actually really want to write this down as a note to my future self.

*deep breath*

Alright. So it all started a few nights ago when me and my sister were talking about UV. I think we were jumping from one topic to another more than actually talking about anything specific? Because it's so easy to do in UV..
Anyway. Long story short, my sister had a light-bulb moment and started to explain a possible explanation for why we never see Sapphire in the mainstream story. This explanation included Morgana the Fey hiring Sapphire to do a little job and it ending BADLY.
Badly enough so that Sapphire was at death's door due to a HORRENDOUS injury, and Morgana saving Sapphire by giving her some of her blood.

Now. A funny thing about blood in UV - normally fairy blood has a lot of magical healing properties with no further side effects apart from causing you to sparkle or maybe have a third eye for a few hours. That's cool, and usually harmless. If you're not a Vampire...
If your a Vampire and drink fairy blood, you will get something Weird with a capital W in your magic system that could range from "My fur can glow and change colour" to "I can summon Cthulhu with my mind". And there's no way of telling what you're gonna get.

And for those that have stuck around for long enough or remember, Sapphire is half-vampire. But she thought she couldn't access the Vampic side of her genes (and she was right; it was a dormant part of her), so she's never relied or depended on it. As far as she is concerned, she was UnMythic.

But fey magic don't care what you can or can't do. It reacted to the fact that Sapphire had some Vampire in her, and it latched onto it and gifted her with the power of Time Travel and Teleportation.
... to put it simply and shortly.

Sapphire had to spend a few productive hours screaming in the forest to get used to the idea of being immortal before visiting Grandma to ask for help. And Grandma in turn asking Aeron, because he's the expert on stuff like this.

Cue Aeron going through the stages of grief, dying of laughter, screeching in Spanish, and banging his head against the wall with muffled screams of "I should've know I should've know I SHOULD'VE KNOWN-" in the span of five minutes. Then extending his hand to shake Sapphire's, and saying "Welcome to the club."

Young-Aeron hasn't even been born at this time yet, so Sapphire has no idea she's joining forces with her future nephew. But I'm getting ahead of myself...

This explains why Sapphire rarely visits Ruby anymore. Not because she can't or doesn't want too, but because Sapphire no longer ages at a coherent rate anymore, and she feels like that would raise Questions.
But Ruby has some massive blind-spots and assumes the reason why Sapphire still looks like she's 25 when she's nearly 40 is because she never had to deal with the stress of keeping a kingdom stable or raising kids. Or keep Midnight from running amok.

Also Ruby has a time-traveler for a son.

So when she DOES figure it out a few more years later, it's more *disappointed "I thought you were better than this" look* than *Shocked Disbelief*.
After that Sapphire visits a lot more often. Technically.
Time Travel is fun like that. :)

ANYWAY. I think I'm coming to the end of my rant... Um, it's probably not worded very well, but I'm so excited about this new development that I think it doesn't matter if no one else understands.

When I start making UV comics it'll look much better.
(Whenever THAT may be)

Sooo... yeah!
How's your week been?
