Bush Walk

Hello, there. Hope everyone out there is fine right now. I'm pretty good. A little tired, but satisfied with how my week has been. I've been working really hard.

So hard, in fact, that I wasn't sure if I was going to come up with something for this week's Saturday post. But I scraped in a little something from my leftover reserves... and made this.

I realized the song Plant Life by Owl City fitted pretty perfectly for Ruby's early childhood, and as a result of that I drew this yesterday afternoon before sunset.

It's not often I get inspired to draw something, and then actually do it... It was novel. I liked it. And I didn't give up halfway, either.
True, probably could've done a cleaner job, but I'm still pretty happy with it.

Few people realize what a dreamer Ruby really is, and just how lonely she was before she made the decision to go to school. Against what everyone else tried to tell her too, nonetheless.
As much as she liked her privacy and freedom at the old cottage in EverWinter forest, Grandma was less then great company for a girl like Ruby. They were too similar to get along, I think. And her parents.. well, she (both Ruby and Grandma) felt they weren't allowed to have a say in a life they barely knew.

UV's 6th Anninersary

Whelp. After a busy day doing comic stuff, and about an hour trying to finish this piece before it ticked over to the 25th, I think it's time I celebrated my blog's birthday. How 'bout you?

Heh. It's kinda weird how I've been posting on this blog for 6 years, though. My cute shenanigan stories about an Anthropomorphic Vampire kangaroo and her various friends and relatives has turned into quite the adventure since then!

And despite my typical radio-silence about the subject, I'm still deeply passionate about the world of Undercover Vamparoo. Very much so.

It's a top priority in terms of me wanting to make it a graphic novel series or something, but I realize in order for me to make it a reality, I need a lot of self-training and discipline. And courage.
That last one will be the hardest to overcome, but I have time to work that out.

But I'm tired now. I think I'll go read for a bit and let this day end...
For those of you who (for some reason) are still here, or just the odd person who likes checking up on my blog every blue moon *raises cup* cheers. I bid you all goodnight! *drinks fruit-juice*

Cherry Chums

Heyo, folks! I'm back another week, ready to share something else on this little site I call my blog! :)

I made this as a commemorative to getting cherry trees in Animal Crossing. Considering we don't have any online friends to swap fruit with, this was quite an achievement in our eyes!

Free-Falling

*Cracks knuckles and pulls out massive picture from behind curtains*
BEHOLD, THE FRUITS OF THREE DAYS WORK, MORTALS!

(*Sigh* Seriously, though. It's been a while since I've drawn something properly outlined and shaded. Not the full-ham work I probably could've done, though, but this is fine.)

Just some of the dudes from my space-adventure world; Rask (big black dude), Bur (small fuzzy one), Sabassa (lizard man), and Hamish (actual man).
(And Ghost, but of course you can't see him because he's inside Hamish's brain. Soo... Does he count?)
(Eh, I'm counting him. Ghost is important.)

Drawing all that flying paper was a mixture between too much fun and having no clue what I was doing. But I think it turned out alright in the end.
Sabassa desperately trying to save some important documents was a must. Hamish's art stuff, while not exactly relevant, was also a must for me. Because.. Well, I love a good boy who draws stuff. :)

I was planning to draw some sort of futuristic weapon for Rask, but I realized that would mean I'd have to draw it. And I was not about to do that. And Bur is still an unexplored character (in terms of personalized items and junk), so I left him alone as well.

I guess the picture was crowded enough as it was, so it's probably just as well.

Firework Show

Ah, September's here. That means no more Winter; only Summer from here on out.
*Huff*

One morning it was cold enough to get half-buried under the covers, and the next it's too hot for a quilt and we almost had to turn on the air conditioner.
*Swings arm out* That's Australia, folks!

(From left to right; Paula, Peggy, Buzz, Zell, and Savannah)

Took about three days to complete this - the first day (or night, more accurately) was the sketch and 'better sketch' (yeah, I didn't bother line-arting this. I knew it wasn't going to be worth it in the long run...). Day 2 was the flat colours and patterns, and then day three background, shading, and special effects.

It was only meant to be a small picture, but I guess I kept adding characters. Like you do.
It amuses me how short Zell is in comparison to like... literally everyone else, though. It's cute.
