Rewind and crush your Enemies into the floor

 To the surprise of everyone (including myself) I did not draw once this week, except in my notebook which I don't intend to share with anyone.

I instead wrote a short fanfiction about Star Wars (of all the possible things I could've written about???) and even finished it. Didn't edit or spellcheck it much, but I finished it! And that's somehow more of a miracle than me finishing a short comic.

So yeah. No new art to share this weekend. But I can offer the comic I finished weeks ago instead.

 

Since it still makes me laugh I think that means I did something right, but for the most part it was just a silly idea that I wanted to get down on paper.

We'll see if I draw anything next week. Or if I just write more fanfiction instead.
Only time will tell!

The Sakurai Samurai and the Neko Ninja

The season of Art Fight is almost upon us again, so as per tradition (I mean, I've only done this 3 times so far XD) I have added a few more characters to my roster and ngl, I'm pretty happy how these turned out

The powers of Youtube compel you

got new laptop this week. the old one was in danger of having a mental breakdown and giving up all hope of life (theoretically.) Thankfully tho, for the first time ever, I got to keep all my familiar pen settings and special homemade brushes for my new laptop with a little bit of computer magic and blood sweat and tears. So I don't have to reinvent the wheel and breed the perfect horse and build my favorite type of cart this time. That was cool.

So to test out how CSP worked on my new laptop, I drew my current Special Interest(TM) using their rainbow hand powers of time and space.

Conclusion? Basically the same. Which is exactly what I wanted.

Still getting used to my new laptop, but at least I have good motivation to use it so I'll try not to whine about missing my old laptop while I make the emotional adjustment.

The Hands of Time

Whelp. Only took me one week to switch my focus from Obscure Elemental Masters that rarely turn up in the show to Obscure Villains that never show up ever again after their focus season.
I REALLY know how to pick them, don't I?

But I'm not grousing because at least these dorks are twins! And I am biased and protective of all twins in my media, so I'll take them and give them the love they should've gotten from the tv show <3

Seriously, I've gotten scarily protective of these boys. And under our supervision they're gonna get the "Reformed Villain" treatment straight after their "Fallen Hero" shtick. They will be looked after and provided for if it's the last thing I do.

Ashes to Ashes, and.... still more Ash

*Deep and intense sigh of relief* First semester of University complete! Not gonna lie, wasn't actually expecting to survive that experience.
They had me in the first half, but I still made it to the end and I can't believe I did that! All of it!

But that is now in the past, and my ADD brain has already moved on and started obsessing about all the things I didn't have time for in earnest now.

So. Lemme give you some of the sketches I've made of one of my favorite forgotten background characters from a children's show about tornado ninjas. Yeah, I know. Again.

But this time these sketches were made with tools I know how to use! >:3

After this week I can't say I love this guy a normal amount with as much conviction as I used to.
But he's not the only one. I also drew a lot of art of some of his friends, and...they don't concern me as much, but it was still a lot of art I drew in 5 days.

Turns out when you have to suppress your creative urges for 13 weeks it all bursts forth like an exploded dam the day after you submit your final presentation. Haha, next time I have burnout I'll have to try that trick.
But til then! Ash is the worst and I would kick him in the teeth and then hold him closely for safekeeping. That is all.

Mind, Shadows, Smoke

When I implied I'd be making some more Ninjago fanart this week, I was not expecting to become obsessed with the random side-characters that only showed up for a handful of episodes and then disappeared like they weren't relevant anymore.

I shouldn't be surprised, but I am anyway. XD

 I just think they're neat, yur'honor! Neat little guys who deserved more love and attention and speaking lines.

Good thing I'm an artist so technically I can give them all those things. And I will! .... just as soon as I escape Uni in a few days.

 Another week down, and only another 24 hours until I have to start worrying about Uni shenanigans again. Which will probably be enough for me.

I've at least figured out Friday nights are one of the only times I have time to draw digitally, so my normal art skills won't get completely rusty while I do my best with all the uni work on my plate.

Despite drawing the other lads so many times, I haven't taken the time to figure out how I want to draw Lloyd yet- which is kinda funny, considering how he's the kingpin of the entire squad and they'd fall into chaos without him XD

But I'm learning to draw him now. At least a little bit.

It's been a week. But because I've been sick for all of it, I decided to take a break from uni and focus on being lazy and recover and try not to push myself into anything unless I had to.
And draw ninjas. But only a little bit, because drawing while I'm sick ain't easy.

These dorks are a treasure no matter what kind of powers they've got.

 Despite uni shenanigans, I decided I deserved an early birthday present this week so I took the time to draw some more on my Cintiq tablet.

 

Safe to say this guy is a complete and utter nerd, and I wouldn't have him any other way

 Second verse same as the first; glad I survived another week of uni, but I am sad to say scissors hate me and I am not making an effort to love them back. Can't help if I'm left-handed, but the scissors hold it against me anyway.

 Whelp! Survived week 2 of uni. A little better than last week, and with any luck I'll survive week 3 too. But that's tomorrow's problem, and for now I am happy to relax and enjoy the rest of my Saturday night <3

If nothing else, studying and drawing 'for uni' has definitely made me appreciate drawing fanart and my own projects more. Not that I have the energy for it except on Saturday, but that's why it's even more special

The Time has Come

 The time has come, brothers and sisters. It is time for me to join the ranks of the higher and holier multitude of education and learning.

... And by that, I mean open University.

 I am terrified beyond belief, but optimistic things will be fine despite my crippling fear of... well, a lot of things! But I'm optimistic all the same.

I've survived this week, even if I was confused and lost and hopelessly ditzy. Hopefully next week I'll understand what I'm doing a little better.

If I don't make it, I hope my dearly beloved friends and family will find my body and give me a good funeral and a delightfully witty gravestone about "She died as she lived: heart full of love and head empty of everything except anxiety and Christmas colored ninjas"

But that's future problems and no one has to think of that yet. Least of all me.
For now, I've got a night of joy and peace to comfort me. That's all I need right now.
