But don't be alarmed! Because our story is focusing on a young teenage Vampire kangaroo named Ruby DeathDancer. It all started one night when they took a trip to the markets... Let's take a look, shall we?
**********
"Thanks for coming with me to the Night Markets, Grandma!" said Ruby, smiling. "Anything to get you out of the house." Replied Grandma. "I hear they're having another book sale tonight - why don't we see what they have after we go to the Fruit store?". Ruby nodded in agreement and continued walking.
Our hero of this story wasn't that special on the outside - she wore a black shirt, darker then shadows, and ragged jeans with invisible stitches patching up the holes. And had long messy hair, covering her left eye. But on the inside, was a heart waiting for an adventure to happen.
Suddenly, sharp whistle sounded throughout the air, and everyone looked around to see bats everywhere flying towards the village center. "What's going on, Grandma?" Ruby asked, puzzled. Grandma answered calmly, "They must be having an announcement from the Vampire Lord. Why don't we go and take a look? It could be interesting."
They started walking with the crowd to EverWinter Village's center, where an important looking Vampire cleared his throat, and began reading from a scroll.
"Attention, Ladies and Gentlebats, but more specifically, teenagers." The announcer began. "The Vampire Lord urgently needs spies to go and infiltrate the enemy, the UnMythics, and would greatly appreciate your help."
"Spies? I believe this could be right up you alley, Ruby!" Grandma whispered. The announcer continued. "Bare in mind this is no easy task, and we request only the most able bodied teenagers. A test shall be given out at the Vampire Lord's Training Area tomorrow night, to those who decide to go. Spread the news - your kind needs you! Good night."
The purple tiger disappeared in a cloud of bats, and the crowd parted off in groups, talking about it. "Oh, Grandma! Can I go? It sounds fun, dangerous, and important!" exclaimed Ruby, "You know I've always wanted to go to the Vampire Lord's mansion!". Grandma sighed and said, "Yes, you can certainly go. Maybe it's time you left the house and did some proper training. And the Vampire Lord did request your presence, so it's not like I can hold you back!". Ruby hugged the old grey kangaroo, and they carried on with their shopping trip.

The next night, Ruby was making her way on top of the hill with a dozen other Vampire teenagers to the Vampire Lord's mansion. The two guards keeping watch at the entrance let them in with serious looks, making Ruby a bit nervous. A scribe nearby looked up, and smiled as the group of teenagers approached.
"Ah, goodnight young bitelings!" Said the scribe, an ancient looking red eagle, with worn out badge of importance. "You must be here for the Vampire Lord's test? Come with me then. Everyone, this way..." He coughed. It looked like he could die any minute, but somehow he walked without much difficulty. He led them through doorways and halls, until they were in an outside field.

"Captain ColdSpirit, here is the group of fresh bloods, ready to be tested!" The eagle shrieked out. Ruby winced at his voice - it reminded her of a sick elderly bat, being tortured. "Have fun, and good luck..." Whispered the scribe, and with a crash, the doors behind them closed, making everyone jump.
Just as the sound died away, a large white tiger appeared out of no where, startling most of the younger teenagers. "So," growled the tiger, who Ruby assumed to be Captain ColdSpirit. "You must be here to take the test... Very well. I'll need you to answer some questions down on those pieces of paper over there. After I've checked them, the test will begin." He nodded to a table with two pens and everyone started to split into lines.
After everyone answered the questions, Captain ColdSpirit checked for anything wrong, but found nothing as far as Ruby was Sure. The tiger started explaining the test. "The test you'll need to pass is this obstacle course - get past all the obstacles with a good time, simple as that. Now, any questions? No? Good. Alexander ShadowClaw!" he shouted, and a blue wolf stepped forward to the starting line, and waited for the signal.
A nearby bat let out a cry, and the wolf sprinted through the course, jumping through hoops, climbing over walls and bars, running until finally he reached the finish line. Captain ColdSpirit said nothing, but wrote something down on a chart he had. "Sara SteelWing!" ColdSpirit shouted, and an orange eagle got out of line to do the same thing.
After a few more teenagers took the course, Ruby heard the words she'd been waiting for since she first stepped foot in here - "Ruby DeathDancer!". She strode forward, hoping she would make it without many bad marks. She got ready, waiting for the signal. The bat screeched, and she was off.

She climbed over the first wall, and jumped down to race across a long straight with a patch of mud in the middle of the road. Most of the teenagers just ran across, slipping, but mostly making it. She ran as fast as she could, and leaped over it, her strong powerful legs getting her to the other side without a stain.
Making another sprint, she came across the monkey bars. She jumped, caught it, and barely made it across before running through some tires, and leaping through hoops. She skidded at the finish line - tired, but mostly pleased. Captain ColdSpirit merely looked up at her before writing down on the piece of paper, and yelled out another name.

After everyone had taken the test, Ruby and the other teenagers were taking a break. Most of them were chatting, but some (like Ruby) remained silent, waiting. The doors back into the mansion were opened by a middle aged monkey, carrying papers. She talked to Captain ColdSpirit before clapping for attention to the teenagers.
"The results to the test are in. The following names are to those who have passed." Ruby held her breath as the monkey started naming those who had made it. "Jett SwiftWind, Perry ThornyLeaf, Amy AmberHeart, Sara SteelWing, Ruby DeathDancer..." Ruby let out her breath. She had passed, and that was all she wanted to hear. But she patiently listened to the rest of the list.
"... Pandora NightSong, and Ivor BirchWood." finished the monkey. "I'm sorry for anyone who didn't pass, but we thank you for trying. To those who have succeeded, you'll be given further instructions in a few days. But for now, all of you will be escorted out of the mansion. The Vampire Lord thanks you for taking the test!"
A guard showed them the way out of the mansion, and Ruby went straight for home. Down the hill, through the marketplace, around some corners until finally, she came upon an old two story cottage, with an overgrown garden. She walked down the ruined path, and opened the front door which creaked as it was pushed open. A spider dangled in front of her from the doorway, smiling. Ruby pushed it out of the way, and said, "Fang, you know that doesn't work on me."

The spider sighed, landed on the ground and scurried up Ruby's legs. It replied "It used too. Oh, and Grandma tells me you went out for a special test. How did it go?" Ruby walked into the kitchen, opened the fridge and took out a bright red fruit, before answering, "I passed. That's all you need to know, little Fang." and took a bite out of her snack. Fang jumped into fridge and took a sandwich before leaping out, and running into a small hole to enjoy his meal.
Ruby gave a contented sigh before walking up some creaky stairs and into a bedroom. She closed the door, and took another mouthful of the fruit.

"I congratulate anyone who managed to read through it all."
*Yay! First Chapter of Undercover Vamparoo has been UPGRADED!!! What? Nobody asked me? On the contrary - I asked myself, and I totally agreed. It was about time I experimented with a different way of writing, but that's not the only reason..."
*I'm thinking about joining book 1 and 2 together, because there are like, only ten or so chapters in B2 (and 30% of the chapters in B1 were kinda pointless. Fun, but pointless). And soon we'll start a brand new Adventure that takes us off the island of Vampires! And that's a MUCH better way to start the book instead of a war.*
*... Don't give me that look. It's my story, and I'll do as I please with it.*
*... Don't give me that look. It's my story, and I'll do as I please with it.*
*But what do you guy think? Should I start the sketchy version of the new adventure (with more holes then some kinds of cheese), or rewrite the old story with better everything? Or both? Or do none of you really care that much and think it should just be up to me to decide?*
! I'm only a novice writer, so both will be terrible !
(pictures will be added as soon as they're completed)
NEW adventure please! :) I wanna see what'll happen. As long as you don't end the blog too soon!
