B4 Ch5 Planning - part3

Sapphire swam past the guards patrolling the front entrance of the palace, and dived into some seaweed. Barak ,who was hiding nearby, glided forward to greet her

Barak: How did it go? Did she buy it?

Sapphire: I think so. At least she's willing to give me more time solo, so I guess that's a success.

Barak: ... Why did we even tell her all of that? What was the point?

Sapphire: It's good to report to your clients every now and then. Let them know what you're planning and what-not (Even if it's all lies). And now she won't give me any unwanted backup!

Barak: So... Good thing?

Sapphire: Very. Now come on, let's get back to the lair so Hydra can tell us the next part of the plan!

Barak: Ok!

Sapphire grabbed hold of Barak and they sped off west, back to Fang and Hydra.

When Sapphire and Barak eventually found their way through the maze, they saw Fang sitting on a nearby rock, eating what looked to be like some sort of sandwich.

Barak: We're back, Fang!

The red spider looked up and dropped what he was eating to paddle over to Barak, who seemed greatly pleased to see him.

Fang: About time! I almost ran out of sea-sandwiches to eat!

Sapphire: That's nice. Now, where's Hydra? She needs to tell us the next part of the plan!

Fang: She went out a little while ago. 'Said she'd be back soon.

Sapphire: Fine. We can wait for a bit.

Sapphire started floating about the glowing cave, while Barak went into the treasure room nearby. Fang returned to his sandwich and started eating.

But after a while, Sapphire started to get bored. So she decided to explore in another nearby room which Hydra hadn't yet showed them. The room was a lot darker than the rest, so it was harder to navigate in. But eventually, Sapphire heard something nearby.

Being the curious kangaroo she was, she decided to investigate. Before long, she spotted a strange pale figure in the darkness, and noted with slight fear that it was moving.

Sapphire: ... Hello, possibly-hostile creature. Friend or foe?

???: Depends.

Sapphire: ... Silver?

???: Silver what?

Sapphire grabbed hold of the creature and pulled it into the light. The thing turned out to be Silver, a little dazed and trying to work out what was going on.

Sapphire: Ha! I knew it was you. What are you doing here? In fact.. How did you even get here?

Silver: I could say the same to you!

Sapphire: I asked you first!

Silver: Get out of my friend's hideout!

And so saying so, Silver punched Sapphire, and both  of them tumbled to the ground. Sapphire shoved the otter off of her, and pushed him against the wall.

Sapphire: I never knew you had the spunk to attack someone! I'm not sure whether I should be impressed, or annoyed...

Sapphire shoved him away, and he charged back at her.

Silver: What are you doing here? What happened to the Dragon that lives here?

Sapphire: Hydra? she just left to go for a swim (apparently), so chill!

Just then, Barak came in to investigate what  all the noise was about. When Sapphire noticed he was in the room, she yelled out a command at him.

Sapphire: Don't just stand there, Barak! Help me!

Barak: How?

Sapphire: Good question! Send it by letter, but seriously! DO something!

Silver pushed Sapphire back and they both fell on the cavern floor. It was at that moment that Hydra came back, and was furious at the sight she saw.

Hydra: What is going on here? Silver, get up this instant! You're fighting my guest!

Silver and Sapphire stopped fighting and got up when they heard the elder Dragon's voice.

Hydra: Silver, if you were in my clan you'd be banished faster then you could say "Sweet smoking sharks"!

The albino otter seemed astonished at what the ancient Dragon was said, and tried to reason with it.

Silver: But... You never invite anyone into your hideout!

Hydra: That's because they usually sneak in without permission.

Silver: And they didn't?!

Silver pointed to Sapphire and Barak, who were just as confused as he was. Hydra rolled her eyes and explained...

Hydra: No, but after they told me why they were here, I took the risk and invited them in.

Silver: But what about you-know-what?

Hydra: The treasure? Don't worry, they already know. The secret is safe with them!

Silver: But... Your oath...

Hydra: I never said I would keep it. Now, introduce yourself and apologize for your hasty behavior.

The pale otter bowed awkwardly to Sapphire, who was also trying to figure out what was going on.

Silver: No need for introductions, master Hydra... This lady already knows me. But I am sorry for attacking you... I don't usually do that.

Sapphire: That's ok (I guess). I've been itching for a tussle for a while, so thank you! But seriously. Why are you here?

Silver: Um... I-...

Hydra: I guess you could say he works for me.

Sapphire stared in surprise at Silver, who tried to hide any emotion creeping into his face.

Sapphire: So... This is your job? Coming to say hello to an ancient Dragon everyday?

The pale otter gave a bashful laugh and shook his head.

Silver: Not exactly. I just spread horrific rumors about a monster lurking in the shadows of a deserted crevice... Nothing big, but I get a place to sleep and something to eat as a reward!

Sapphire: Then you knew about this place? Why didn't you tell us!

Silver backed off a bit from Sapphire, who looked like she wanted to do something to him.

Silver: I was just protecting Hydra's home! After all, I have sworn loyalty to her, so I have to at least try not to endanger her cave!

Hydra: Thank you, Silver.

Silver: Don't mention it... Anyway. I only attacked you because I thought you managed to kick Hydra out, and were after the treasure!

Hydra chuckled slightly and patted Silver's head gently.

Hydra: Believe me when I say no one can make me move unless I want to.

Silver: I wasn't sure... There have been some odd stories about you, Sapphire. About being a sea-witch and all...

Sapphire sighed and calmed down. She then remembered that she should probably tell Hydra the news she had been meaning to tell.

Sapphire: Oh, Hydra! It seems Oceania has taken the bait. So... What's phase two?

Hydra: Phase two? Lay low for a few days and get some rest. Me and the other Dragon can talk about further plans. So until then, you're free to do whatever you like.

Sapphire: ... Really? Well, ok... I guess...

Silver: Wait, what plan?

Sapphire: I'll explain later. But for now, why don't we go and have a little fun?

Sapphire grabbed the albino otter's hand before he could react, and they swiftly swam up back to the surface.

B4 Ch5 Planning - part2

Back at the palace, Oceania was taking care of other business with her scribe...

Scribe (Red Seal): What if we were to send them a large chest full of gold?

Oceania: Not too large... We don't want to spoil them. They're rich enough as it is without my help...

Just then, the big doors flung open and in swam a dolphin, who seemed a little excited. Oceania looked up briefly before writing again.

Oceania: Oh. It's you... What do you want, son? Feeling fresher?

Neptune (White Dolphin): Yep! I feel a lot better since I took that potion - the cure really worked!

Oceania: Good. Your spies aren't absolutely hopeless after all.

Neptune: They're not hopeless! They just work in difficult conditions...

Oceania: Not our problem.

Neptune: It is, actually. You're 'partners' keep bullying them into-

Oceania: Don't take it personally, dear. They are just a bunch of lower-class creatures compared to us.

Neptune: Just because of who their parents were?

Oceania ignored her son and passed some letters to the scribe, who swam off with them hastily. The queen then gave a sigh of satisfaction.

Oceania: With any luck, S.A.L.T will be happy with the little present I've decided to give them so they nelieve they are in my favor. And if all goes well, soon every Sea Creature from all the nine oceans will recognize  me as their one true queen!

Neptune: ... What about the sea witch?

The sea queen gave a slight laugh, and waved her flipper dismissively.

Oceania: Oh, her? Don't worry. When she gets me what I want, I'll bribe her to becoming your personal bodyguard. With talent like that, she can't fail!

Neptune: What if she doesn't want to? She's obviously different from us! And I don't mean in blood.

Oceania: Maybe so, but one thing I know about our kind is that we're extremely corruptible. If she listens to her greedy heart, the rest can fall into place with the plan easily.

Neptune: I wish you wouldn't do that. She practically saved my life! Isn't that enough?

Oceania: ... We need to work on your desire for power, Neptune.

Neptune: Yes mother...

Oceania: Now, why don't you and your little city friends have some fun? You can take some gold to buy snacks, maybe see a show... You deserve it, after being locked up in your room for two months.

Neptune: Thank you, mother!

The dolphin was about to head out the door again, but something burst through, making him swim back a bit.

Oceania: What in the name of-...

It was then that Oceania realized it was Sapphire, back from her mission.

Oceania: Ah, lady Sapphire. What a surprise! ... Have you ever thought to knock before you enter? Or at least let my guards know you're here?

The mysterious girl shrugged and swam forward a bit. Neptune hid in the shadows of the pillars to listen for awhile.

Sapphire: Waste of time. And I've got news for you, you're majesty. I've located the treasure you've been searching for!

The queen gave a pleased smile at Sapphire, and immediately started to climb down from the throne.

Oceania: Really? Excellent!

The blue Kangaroo held up her hand to stop Oceania, though, with a grim face.

Sapphire: But there's a catch... a big one.

The queen sat back down on the throne, and waited for Sapphire to go on.

Sapphire: There's a monster protecting it.

Oceania: ... Is that all?

Sapphire: Yeah. A mean nasty monster is guarding the treasure. It's also really big, and breaths ice, just like your friends said.

Oceania: And you couldn't get past it?

Sapphire: Oh, I could. But getting back with a heavy chest would just weigh me down for the swim back through the maze that thing calls home. It was a foolish idea, so I aborted the mission for now.

Oceania: How unfortunate... But I must get that treasure! I'll storm the lair with my entire army if I have too!

Sapphire shook her head in disagreement.

Sapphire: Bad Idea. The tunnels down there are far too narrow to fight in, plus it's pitch black. And the monster would have the home advantage, what with the maze and all. I was lucky enough to find my way out alive!

Oceania gave a long looked at Sapphire, and stated the obvious.

Oceania: ... You don't look harmed.

Sapphire: I was also lucky enough to get out uninjured. I said nothing about being hurt. But what I'm trying to say is that I want do it alone! Everyone has a weakness - I just have to find it, use it, and take what I came for.

Oceania: Very well. Carry on! And let me now if you find anything new.

The blue kangaroo was about to leave, but turned around to face her once more.

Sapphire: And I expect you to hold up your end of the deal once I'm done?

Oceania: Of course! On my family's honor!

Sapphire: Good to know. I hate it when Mythics lie to me...

The Sea kangaroo smiled sweetly and left swiftly, leaving the royals alone. Neptune stepped out of the shadows, with a bored expression.

Neptune: Why do you need that treasure so much? Everyone knows it's legendary because it's impossible to find!

Oceania: Not impossible, my child. Just playing difficult to get... Whether she gets it or not, sooner or later someone will have the power to get me the prize that rests within the cave!

The queen gave a slight laugh before facing her son, with a little frustration.

Oceania: Now leave. You've wasted enough time listening to the grown-ups. Go out and play!

Neptune sighed and exited the room, feeling guilty for something he wasn't doing.

Another cat girl

... I don't know. I like drawing humans with animal like features! It's fun.

... No other comment. Proceed with your daily duties and stuff.

B4 Ch5 Planning - part1

Hydra led the team through the maze of tunnels, swerving around invisible obstacles and chatting with her intruders.

Hydra: Sorry for attacking you, earlier.

Sapphire: You didn't kill me, so I guess it's alright.

Hydra: I've had so many unwanted house-guests coming into my den lately, I'm starting to think I should eat them...

Fang: Do you think they would taste nice?

Hydra: To be honest, no. But I'd get rid of them for good.

Barak: ... How long until we stop? I can't see anything!

Hydra: Patience, young Dragon.We've arrived.

The Dragon entered a nicely lit area, filled with kelp with the odd treasure here and there. Hydra sat down on the floor, and motioned for the others to find somewhere comfy.

Fang: Nice place you got.

Hydra: Yes. After a few years of digging out the tunnels, I made a room out of a hidden sealed cave and turned it into part of my watery hideout.

Barak: Do you stay here all the time? Don't you need to breath fresh air?

Hydra: No. I'm from the IseiStar Clan, meaning I was born with gills that allow me to stay under the water for as long as I like without worry of drowning!

Sapphire: And Barak's gills can't?

Hydra: No. They can last for a while underwater, but he needs to breath real air after a few hours.

Sapphire: You mentioned something about clans... Tell us - can you explain to us where Barak originally came from?

Hydra: I'm afraid I can't. I was born a few hundred years after the war between the Vampires and UnMythics started, and my grandparents never talked about it much.

Sapphire: So there's nothing you can tell us?

Hydra: Nothing solid, anyway. But by seeing the Champion right here in front of me, I'd bet he's a SoulSun Dragon... Or a mix-blood. That's possible too.

Barak: Mix-blood?

Hydra: It means you're parents came from different clans.

Sapphire: And why do you think that?

Hydra: Back when I attacked you, he used what we Dragons call 'The power of Plasma'. It's a combination of fire and lightning, and a dangerous thing to control... Although you seemed just fine back there, so maybe I'm wrong.

Hydra gave a hard look into Barak's eyes, until Sapphire's stomach growled, making the big Dragon remember she had guests.

Hydra: Well, that's enough chatter. How about having something to eat?

Sapphire: Sure! I'm hungry.

Hydra: Good. I'll go and round up some fish... Barak, would you please assist me?

Barak looked at Fang, who nodded and jumped off of him. Fang swam over to Sapphire, and waved an arm at the small green Dragon.

Fang: It'll be good for you. Go out there and spend some time with a real Dragon!

Barak: But-

Fang: Don't argue! Off you go!

Barak gloomily turned around to follow Hydra back to the open sea, leaving Sapphire and Fang by themselves.

When the two Dragons came back with some fish, they found Sapphire and Fang playing a game of naughts and crosses. They both looked up from their game as they entered the cave.

Barak: We're back! And we got food!

Sapphire: Wow, that didn't take long. Toss me a fish!

Barak threw a fish at her and blasted it with a blue fire, startling Sapphire and Fang.

Fang: ... When did you learn to do that?

Barak: Hydra taught me. It can burn in water!

Sapphire: Great. Now my food is on fire, and water can't help. Thanks, Barak...

Barak: You're welcome!... Oh... You didn't want it that way?

Sapphire: It would have been fine raw.

Hydra slapped a fish in Fang's directions, and the spider happily grabbed into it and started munching. The old Dragon slumped down into the sand and swallowed some fish. After Sapphire's meal had cooled down, she bit into it gratefully.

Sapphire: I prefer this food over the feast the queen gave me. Not as rich, and definitely tastier!

Hydra: I'm glad you like it. I prefer tuna over salted clam-shell salad myself.

Barak swallowed his fish whole, and turned to Hydra to ask the question that had been on their minds for some time.

Barak: Are you protecting treasure, Hydra?

Hydra: Yes... And no.

Barak: ... That didn't answer my question.

Hydra: There is, but It's well hidden.

Barak: Could you show us?

Hydra thoughtfully stared at Barak before nodding her head.

Hydra: Alright. I feel reckless. Come this way...

Hydra turned around and headed down another passageway. Barak followed her, with Sapphire and Fang close behind.

When the reached the end of the tunnel, they entered a large cave with loads of chests, piles of gold, silver, and jewels, and all sorts of shiny objects. Sapphire and Barak started in amazement as Hydra circled a large chest, filled with shining cold coins.

Hydra: The treasure I'm guarding is somewhere in this room. Can you guess what, and where it is?

Barak immediately started searching for the treasure. He first zoomed over to a sparkling silver crown, and pointed to it.

Barak: This?

Hydra shook her head, and Barak continued looking. He kept pointing to all sorts of objects, until Sapphire face palmed and joined in the search.

Barak: Is it this?

Hydra: No.

Sapphire: What about this gem? It's huge!

Hydra: Not that, either.

Barak and Sapphire kept making guesses, asking Hydra whether it was the right thing or not.

Sapphire: If it isn't this cool looking scepter thingy, I don't know what it is!

Hydra: That's not the treasure I'm guarding.

Sapphire: Then what is it?

Hydra said nothing, and carried on swishing her tail back and forth.

Fang: ... Those are some big Dragon eggs!

Sapphire and Barak turned around in surprise, and saw Fang floating near what appeared to be three smooth oval rocks. Hydra seemed impressed, but also a little suspicious.

Hydra: Mm... Yes, they are bigger then normal eggs. How did you know they were Dragon eggs? I had the impression you were a normal spider...

Sapphire: Spider, yes. Normal, no.

Fang shrugged, and casually folded two of his arms behind his head.

Fang: I was with Ruby and Midnight when they found Barak as an egg. Plus, it's hard to forget something that practically explodes when hatched.

Barak swam up to the three large eggs, and gave one a tap. He looked up at Hydra with a puzzled look.

Barak: Is this the treasure you're protecting?

Hydra: Yes.

Sapphire: Why? I mean, I get that they are Dragons eggs, but... Why? Are they special?

Hydra: Very. I've been told that these eggs will hatch when the world needs them most.

Barak: ... And when will that be?

Hydra shrugged, and swiped her tail over one of the eggs protectively.

Hydra: I don't know. Months, years, decades... Prophecies are strange like that - They rarely tell a specific date. But I probably wont be around then... I'll just guard them for as long as I can.

The ancient Dragon sighed and sat down near a rusty treasure chest. Barak paddled up to her, a little concerned.

Barak: Are you alright?

Hydra nodded vaguely, and glanced at the Dragon eggs with a strange look in her eyes.

Hydra: Yes. It's just I'm an old Dragon now. There isn't a whole lot I'm good for outside my clan. I just want to do something useful for the world before I become nothing more then the bubbles in the current...

Fang: ... Does killing annoying queens count?

Sapphire aimed a hit at the red spider, but Fang dodged and hid behind Barak.

Sapphire: FANG! You can't just kill royalty!

Fang: Why not?

Sapphire: It'll end up in a royal ruckus. Those are a pain to deal with.

Fang: We wont be the ones dealing with it. But seriously, does getting rid of selfish queens count as a service to the world?

Hydra shook thoughtfully, and looked off into the distance for a bit before replying.

Hydra: Well... I don't think we should kill Oceania, but... I have been chasing off the her treasure-hunting fools for years, and (to be frank) I'm sick of it.

Sapphire: Then what do you suggest we do?

Hydra slyly looked around at the others, before slowly answering.

Hydra: I was thinking... payback.

Sapphire grinned and cracked her knuckles loudly.

Sapphire: Now you're speaking my language! What did you have in mind, oh great sea Dragon?

Anzac special

I guess it's that time of year again - Anzac Day.

I wanted to do a little picture because... well, because I could, and I did. It may not be big, but I had fun drawing it.

 ... Yes, Fang is indeed dreaming of  Anzac cookies.

Oh, just a heads up, I'm skipping tomorrows post because I need to catch up on my secret project (I only have so many months before It's due), so... yeah.

Treasure Hunter

Well... This was a little rushed, and I thought it would be fun to test this out with weird styles (something I don't regret), plus... I really wanted to draw a young treasure-hunter, about to explore the deserts of a distant land in search for some ancient artifacts.

... Something I'd like to do, but there are no ancient treasures for me to take, so... yeah. Imagination will have to do!

... At least the table looks decent!

B4 Ch4 Sea Monster - part3

When Barak and Fang were reunited with Sapphire, they headed towards the Great Crack to search for the Queen's treasure. When they got there, however, Barak hesitated.

Barak: Uh... Do we have to go down there?

Sapphire: Probably, yes.

Barak: But it's so... dark.

Sapphire: Yeah. So?

Barak inched backwards, while Sapphire dived right in.

Fang: You've never been afraid of the dark before, Barak! What's wrong this time?

Barak: I feel like there's something down there...

Fang: Well, if there is, you can fight it!

Barak: Are you sure?

Fang: Yes. Now, shed some light on the situation, if you please!

Barak shot some balls of light down into the dark, lighting up the way a bit. Fang tapped Barak's head and pointed towards Sapphire, who was trying to find anything remotely like a cave. The small Dragon pushed off the sandy edge and glided towards Sapphire.

Fang: So... What are we looking for again?

Sapphire: I don't know! Look for a cave, a hidden passageway, anything that could potentially be a tunnel of sorts!

Barak swam further down, and started searching for an entrance.

After hours of searching, Barak, now exhausted, gave up and sat down on a nearby ledge. He and Fang watched Sapphire as she continued in vain to search for a cave.

Barak: It's been ages, and we've still found nothing!

Fang: Yup. I'm starting to think we might be looking in the wrong place!

Barak stretched out and accidentally knocked over a few rocks, with in turn landed on a huge boulder. Sapphire turned around in alarm, and saw the boulder drop into the darkness. Where the big rock used to be appeared a tunnel instead.

Sapphire: ... Good job, Barak! Even though it was an accident...

Fang: You're going in, right?

Sapphire: You better believe it.

Sapphire plunged into the dark hole, and was out of sight in a few seconds.

Barak: Do we have too?

Fang: If we want to make sure she's going to be safe, yes.

Barak whined but followed Sapphire into the darkness.

As Sapphire swam down the long tunnel, she hoped this would be the place where the 'treasure' was kept. Just as she started to gain speed, the passageway split into to ways. They had to halt.

Sapphire: Two directions, one right, one wrong (unless they both lead the same way)... Ok, I'll go left, you guys go right.

Barak: Ok!

Sapphire: Don't get lost, because I won't come back to look for you.

Sapphire darted down the left tunnel and into more darkness. She hoped there wasn't anything dangerous, but then again, she had Barak (sorta) close by.

Sapphire: ... Man, why is it so dark down here?

???: Usually it scares timid intruders out.

Sapphire froze, because she was pretty sure that sounded nothing like Fang or Barak.

??? (strange creature): Who are you, sea creature?

Sapphire: I could say the same thing to you, mysterious monster.

???: Do you know who I am?

Sapphire: If I did, I'd give you more disrespect, but I have no idea who you are.

???: And I have no wish to tell you.

Sapphire: Well that's a shame, because I was hoping you'd tell me where to find a treasure of some sort...

The invisible monster snarled at Sapphire, before slowly asking the question...

???: ... What kind of treasure were you hoping to find, sea creature?

Sapphire shrugged, and folded her arms defensively.

Sapphire: I don't know. I just follow orders, apparently. But I was told that the treasure was theoretically around here somewhere...

The sea monster started to growl softly, making Sapphire step back a little.

???: You are here to steal from me?

Sapphire: Maybe... Either way, it's for a good cause!

Sapphire noticed that her statement didn't seem to help the situation at all. The huge creature came closer, and Sapphire could see two glowing eyes, with an angry look in them.

???: Get out of my cave!

The dragon started shooting something at her, making Sapphire dart backwards and into a wall.

Sapphire: BARAK! Get your tail over here, there's a monster trying to kill me!

Sapphire ducked out of the way just as the creature shot another ball of invisible threat at her. She tried to retreat back where she had came from, but couldn't find the exit.

But Barak charged at the unknown monster, knocking it to the sandy floor of the cave. Barak quickly retreated a short distance, waiting for the sea beast to make its move.

Fang: Don't just stand here, Barak! Fire!

Barak shot some light balls, blinding everyone in the small cave. The huge creature which had been harassing Sapphire stumbled backwards, but soon recovered from the brightness. Just as the creature was about to attack again, it noticed Barak and stopped dead in it's tracks.

???: A Dragon hatchling? I haven't seen or heard another Dragon in years... Who are you, young one?

Barak tired to hide behind Sapphire, but the older Dragon gently pulled him closer.

Fang: (Go on! Tell her your name!)

Barak: I-I'm.... uh... I'm Barak! Are... you a Dragon?

???: Yes, I am. Barak... An uncommon name, but very fitting for one such as you... What clan do you come from? Why are you so far away from the Dragon Islands? What are you doing with a sea creature?

Barak looked really confused, but Fang piped up for him.

Fang: Clan? Dragon Islands? He doesn't know any of that kinda stuff, mate! He was hatched at the beginning of a Vampire war!

???: Vampires? In that case you must be the Dragon Champion we sent to protect the Vampires a thousand years ago!

Sapphire: You've heard of him, then?

???: Of course I have! Every Dragon has at least heard of the tale! I just didn't think I'd live to meet him...

The ancient Dragon sat there in wonderment, looking at Barak

Barak: So... you won't freeze Sapphire?

???: ... No.

Barak relaxed, while the older Dragon got up and faced Sapphire. Fang pushed off Barak, and got nearer to the sea Dragon.

Fang: What's your name, anyway?

Hydra (blue Dragon): They called me Hydra, back in my clan. But why don't I make up for attacking your friend, and invite you in? If you're hungry, I'm sure I can get some fish!

Sapphire: Uh... Sure. We'll take you up on that offer.

Hydra: Follow me.

The big sea Dragon swam off deeper into the underwater caverns, and Sapphire decided to follow. Barak reluctantly trailed after them, wondering if this was a good idea or not.

B4 Ch4 Sea Monster - part2

After Barak and Fang had some lunch on a nearby island, they dived back into the sea to search for Sapphire.

Barak: ... Do you think it was a good idea to leave her all alone?

Fang: I'm sure she's fine!

Barak: But what if she got attacked while we were away?

Fang: She can fend for herself, Barak.

Barak: Not against a two-man army...

Fang tugged at Barak's ears, and pointed at the sandy floor.

Fang: I believe that's her! Downwards, hatchling!

Barak powered down to the sea floor, where Sapphire was waiting impatiently.

Fang: Hi, Sapphire! We were just talking about you!

Sapphire: That's nice.

Barak: Are you mad at us?

Sapphire: A little, but I've got some news for you.

Barak cocked his head, now curious about what was up.

Sapphire: I've just worked out that the gang really is in the queen's palace! And not too happy, by the sounds of it.

Fang: How'd you work that out? Did the queen invite you to lunch?

Sapphire: She did, oddly enough. She even struck a fishy deal with me!

Barak: Fishy deal?

Sapphire: She wants me to locate an item for her.

Fang: Cool! Were going on a treasure hunt!

Sapphire: And if her highness keeps her end of the deal, we could get the others back!

Barak: Then what are we waiting for?

Sapphire: Directions. She never gave any specific details about where this treasure is.

Barak: Oh...

Fang: What did she tell you, then?

Sapphire: Well... She said something about a crack, but I'm not sure.

Barak: Why don't you ask the silver seal-

Sapphire: Otter. He's an otter, Barak.

Fang patted Barak's head, and waved his arm carelessly at Sapphire.

Fang: Don't listen to her, Barak. She's a bad influence on you! And besides, he was clearly a shark.

Sapphire: You have four too many eyes to see clearly, Fang. And who says I'm a bad influence?

Fang: Ruby.

Sapphire: ... Let's finds Silver.

Barak: Ok!

When they arrived at Seatopia again, Sapphire agreed split up with Barak and Fang to search for Silver, the stuttering otter.

Sapphire: Ok, if I were an albino otter trying to hide from everyone, where would I be?

... She found him behind some kelp, and thought it would be fun to scare him. So Sapphire sneaked up from behind and tapped on his shoulder.

Sapphire: Hey, Silver!

Silver jumped forward in alarm, and faced Sapphire, who was trying not to laugh.

Silver: Sapphire! You scared the living daylights out of me!

Sapphire: Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Silver: ... What are you doing here?

Sapphire took a deep breath before asking her question.

Sapphire: I'm here to ask you something...

Silver: Uh... Sure. Ask away!

Sapphire: I was wondering if you could tell me where to find a 'crack' around here...

Silver: Oh! You must mean the Great Crack.

Silver pointed west, giving Sapphire a vague idea of where to look.

Silver: Many meeron's say that the crack was formed by a Dragon champion, who was trying to keep the peace with the other clans! It's quite scary, but it makes a good place to keep hidden treasures!

Sapphire: Cool. In that case, I'll just be getting on my way then...

Sapphire was about to head where Silver had pointed, but he grabbed her arm in alarm.

Silver: Where do you think you're going?

Sapphire: To the Great Crack... Why?

Silver: Bad idea! Do you have any idea what's in there?

Sapphire: Treasure, perhaps?

Silver: No! Well, maybe, but... there are also terrible things lurking in there!

Sapphire waited for him to go on, but he didn't.

Sapphire: ... Such as?

Silver: Just... Terrible things!

Sapphire: ... Not a good enough reason.

Sapphire freed her arm from the otters grip, and tried to swim away again, but he just grabbed hold again.

Silver: Seriously! Don't go!

Sapphire: Nothing has stopped me from going just because it's 'dangerous'. Besides, more is at stake than my life here. Now let go, before you get hurt.

Silver reluctantly let go of her, and Sapphire turned to the direction of the Great Crack.

Silver: ... She's not going to like this.

Shiny Audino

Earlier this week I decided to spend a few hours grinding in my Pokemon Black2 game (nuzlcoke), and while I was hunting for wild audino, a Shiny audino appeared!

Of  course, being the prepared trainer I was, I threw a QuickBall at it, and now I have my second shiny pokemon (the first being a Shiny Goldeen)

... I'm aiming for Shiny Treecko, next!

B4 Ch4 Sea Monster - part1

Sapphire and Oceania, the sea queen, were having a little lunch in a large sparkling room. Marble tables were covered in fine dishes, as Sapphire sampled each plate with caution.

Oceania: Do you find the food to your liking?

Sapphire looked thoughtfully at the food before her, and shrugged.

Sapphire: Could be worst. It's a bit... salty, to say the least.

Oceania smiled slightly at Sapphire's comment.

Oceania: The ocean is full of salt.

Sapphire: So I've noticed.

Oceania stopped at one table, and clapped her fins for some nearby servants to take them away. They did so silently, and Oceania looked at Sapphire seriously.

Oceania: Ok. Let's get down to business!

Sapphire swallowed her mouth full of food, thankful for an excuse to stop eating. As hungry as she was, the food wasn't to her liking.

Oceania: I'm aware of the achievement you accomplished recently, so that's why I've invited you here.

Sapphire: I got that much of the memo, but why? Surely there are people you trust more, who are also more reliable then me to do this 'job'!

Oceania: Oh, I've tried. Everyone I've asked has failed to get what I want. I'm getting desperate...

Sapphire: Fair enough. But before we continue, can you at least tell me what I'm after?

Oceania: I'm afraid I can't. All that you need to know is that the treasure is in a cave only a a short swim from the Great Crack.

Sapphire: ... What's the catch?

Oceania: All my clients have claimed that a dangerous monster who breaths ice is guarding the treasure, and freezes anyone who gets too close.

Sapphire: That makes things more difficult... But what do I get out of all of this?

Just at that moment, a sea guard rushed in and handed something to the queen.

Sea Guard (green crocodile): Message from the S.A.L.T gang, your honor.

Oceania quickly read the message and gave a frustrated sigh.

Oceania: You'll have to excuse me for a minute, lady Sapphire...

The queen and the guard both left the room hastily, leaving Sapphire on her own.

Meanwhile, in another hallway in the palace...

Sea Guard: STOP THAT SLAVE!!!

A dozen or so sea creatures were chasing after an escaped slave, who was trying his best to swim away without much success.

???: It wont be much of a loss if they catch me, but where on earth did they put Cole?

The escaped creature burst through a nearby door, and stopped dead in his tracks when he saw a blue kangaroo, floating around the table. They locked eyes and both raced towards each other.

The escapee was expecting a hug... Instead, he got punched in the face.

Sapphire: MIDNIGHT! What on earth are you doing here?

Midnight (black cheetah): I could say the same to you. But what that punch really necessary?

Sapphire: Yes! I was worried sick, wondering where you were! What happened?

Midnight: Everything! The ship was attacked, we got kidnapped by a bunch of fishy creatures, we didn't know where you, Barak or Fang ended up, and-

Sapphire: Where are the others?

Midnight: I dunno. I just recently escaped!

Sapphire: From where?

Before he could answer a bunch of guards burst through another door, and all of them pointed their spears at him.

Sea Guard: Alright then, shrimp! We got you now!

Before Sapphire could stop them, they pushed him away and out of sight.

*****

Sapphire: ... Right. So now I know they should be all ok. Just how to get them back is the question...

And just then, the queen came back, looking slightly frustrated.

Oceania: I do apologize for that... there was a little problem that I had to take care of.

Sapphire gave the queen suspicious look, but said nothing. The queen got back to the table, before resuming to where they had left their conversation.

Sapphire: You want this treasure, and I get that. But what do I get out of this?

Oceania: Assuming you get what I want? You're reward will be pleasing me, your queen.

Sapphire gave the queen an astonished looked, wondering whether she was joking.

Sapphire: I want an actual prize. Like... maybe some of your slaves?

Oceania: I beg your pardon?

Sapphire: You heard me.

The swordfish stayed silent, obviously not very pleased with Sapphire's suggestion.

Oceania: ... I'm grateful for you healing my son, but not that grateful.

Sapphire: Fine. No deal, then.

Oceania: Are you sure you don't want anything else? Wealth? Power? Anything?

Sapphire: Nope! Just a couple of your 'servants' of my pick. Nothing more, nothing less.

Oceania: But they're very valuable to me! A gift from S.A.L.T!

Sapphire: I don't care where they come from! Either I get some slaves as a reward, or I'm not doing this job at all. Your choice...

Sapphire waited for an answer, and after a few minutes Oceania gave in.

Oceania: Very well. You shall have your way.

Sapphire: Thank you. I'll see what I can do. Good day, then...

Sapphire left the table and headed for the door. She had plans to discuss with Fang and Barak.

B4 Ch3 Ocean Palace -part4

With Barak and Fang leaving Sapphire behind, she tried thinking about what to do next. But while she was deciding, the two guards who had spotted her suddenly appeared.

Startled by the guards appearance, Sapphire started attacking the two armed sea creatures. They didn't really fight back much, so she won with almost incredible ease

Sapphire: Are you going to surrender?

Sea Guard 1(grey shark): Surrender? We didn't even come here to fight you!

Sapphire: I'd like to know the reason why you attacked me, then!

Sea Guard 2(green penguin): We didn't attack you! You attacked us!

Sapphire: I did it in self defense. Unlike you...

Sea Guard 1: We had orders not to harm you! And besides, the queen wouldn't like it if we surrendered to you...

Sapphire: You chased me all the way from the palace! And you shouted 'intruder' at me!

Sea guard 2: Our jobs as guards are pretty boring most of the time. Hardly anyone breaks in, so when you came unnanounced, we couldn't resist!

Sea Guard 1: Even if you were invited.

Sapphire folded her arms and gave them an expression that said 'do you think I'm that dumb'?

Sea Guard 2: ... Uh...  It's true, though!

Sapphire: This is all going a bit fast for me. Here I was thinking you wanted to hurt me, and now you tell me I'm practically invited to lunch with the queen. But suppose I did believe you... why would I be invited by the queen?

Sea Guard: We don't know... We're just guards! Do you expect the queen to tell us her every secret and plan to all her subjects?

Sapphire: ...  Fine. I'm curious. Take me to your leader!

Sea Guard 1: Leader?

Sapphire: Leader, chief, ruler, 'majesty... Doesn't matter what you call 'em. They're all the same to me...

Sea Guard 2: ... Well, ok. You stopped attacking us, so... sure. Follow us!

Sapphire: Oh! And if you try to deceive me...


Sapphire cracked her knuckles, and gave them a sly smile. The guards backed off a little, slightly wary of her now.

Sea Guard 1: O-of course not, Great sea witch... Not in a million years! Now, if you'd please follow us?

When they eventually got back to the sea palace, there seemed to be a fair bit of commotion. One of the guards went on ahead to let the queen know of Sapphire's arrival, as the curious blue kangaroo swam down the dozens of pillar.

Sea Guard 2: We do thank you for accepting the queen's invitation to lunch!

Sapphire: Of course you do. Now let's see whether this is real or not...

She heard an echoing voice from a nearby room, with had two huge crystal-like doors which glimmered in the murky sunlight.

Guard 1: You're royal highness, the Sea Witch has kindly accepted your invitation to lunch.

???: Ah, excellent... Send her in!

The great doors opened, allowing Sapphire into a huge sparkling room. When they got to the very end of the room, there was a throne with a shadowy figure sat there.

???: Thank you... You may go.

The two guards bowed and silently swam out of the room, leaving Sapphire alone with the queen.

???: You must be the witch I've heard so much about.

Sapphire: And you must be the queen I've heard so little about.

???: Hmm... A sense of humor, you have.

Sapphire: It's in my nature, although some say it's in my blood. But seriously. I don't even know your name, sea queen.

The figure gave a bubbling laugh, and sprang forward into the sunlight, where Sapphire could clearly see what she was. She was a small-ish swordfish, Sapphire noted, but defiantly had a regale air about her.

Oceania (blue swordfish): Then let me introduce myself... I am Queen Oceania the second, and ruler of the StarDust Ocean! And you are...?

Sapphire: My name is not important.

Oceania: Now now, it's common courtesy to give your name to someone who's told you theirs. So... What is your name, great sea witch?

Sapphire sighed and rolled her eyes.

Sapphire: ... They call me Sapphire.

Oceania: Alright then, lady Sapphire. I'll guess I should tell you why I've invited you.

Sapphire: Not to lunch, I assume?

Oceania: Actually, I thought you might've been a bit hungry... Roaming around the ruins without a clam in your bag, I assumed you'd be interested in my offer.

Sapphire: So you've been spying on me. But you can't have invited me just for that. Surely there's another reason?

The queen sighed and nodded.

Oceania: Yes, there is another reason... I have a little job for you.

Sapphire: A job?

Oceania: Yes. You managed to find what Sea Creatures have been looking for centuries (and so easily, too)! So I believe that you're capable of other amazing things too.

Sapphire: Depends what this job is.

Oceania: Of course, I give you the details later... But for now, why don't you come with me for a little bite?

The swordfish beckoned to Sapphire to follow her into another room. Sapphire hesitated for a moment before swimming after the queen.

Updated Ruby

I've been thinking of updating some of the team's outfits a bit... I started out with Ruby's, who used to only have a black t-shirt and slightly ragged jeans, with long(ish) hair and a bag.

... Now she has a vest and chestnut long shorts, with slightly shorter hair... And both her eyes are showing!

No Thursday post

... Well, I would have liked to have posted something tonight (seeing I couldn't do it on Tuesday), but I watched Zootopia (movie) for school today, so I didn't have enough time to finish the next part of Chapter 3.

... I hate this as much as you do. I would've drawn a picture to replace it, but my brain rebelled against me so I couldn't get that done either.

Hopefully next week I'll get my schedule back in order... No promises, though.

Easter Post

Sorry for the delay, but at least I managed to get something done!

Mmm... busy week for me, but (hopefully) things should get less hectic. But you're not here to hear me complain about life - here's the picture I thankfully managed to get done in time!

... Not bad, eh? I think I'm getting slightly better at drawing humans!

B4 Ch3 Ocean Palace -part3

Sapphire and Barak, after much searching, they eventually found something that looked like a palace. They dived into a nearby kelp forest and tried figure out if this was worth their time.

Fang: Do you see all those clowns in armor, Sapphire?

Sapphire: I'm assuming they're guards, protecting whoever is inside... This has to be the place.

Barak: Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!

Barak prepared for a speedy entrance, but Fang tugged at his ear.

Fang: No. Me and Sapphire go in alone - you stay up here in case we get into trouble.

Sapphire: I guess you're right. Who knows what damage you could cause in there!

Fang: See? Sapphire agrees with me.

Sapphire: Actually, I was talking about you.

Barak snickered slightly as Fang looked at Sapphire with mock innocent eyes.

Fang: Me? Cause trouble for you? Never.

Sapphire: For at least five minutes. In any case, let's see what we can find out!

Barak: Are you sure I can't go?

Sapphire: Yes. Besides, if you get caught, they might try to do... weird things with you.

Barak: Ok... In that case, good luck!

Fang: Who needs luck when we have skill?

Sapphire: Sounds like something Midnight would say.

Fang: Well, he isn't here, so I have to fill out some lines for him.

Fang grabbed hold of Sapphire's arm, and they stealthily swam their way into the palace.

As Sapphire and Fang sneaked around the marble floors, trying not to be spotted by anyone passing by, she kept wondering if Ruby could be close by.

Sapphire: So... Any idea where they could possible be, Fang?

Fang: I didn't really think this through, so... No. I have no idea

Sapphire: And here I was hoping you'd actually be useful. Oh well... at least this is a pretty cool place to be in.

Fang: I've seen better.

Sapphire: Oh really?

Fang: Yes! Grandma's garden!

Sapphire: More like graveyard...

Fang: We all have personal tastes, and I prefer the garden graveyard over... whatever they call this underwater fort.

Just then, a purple tiger appeared from around the corner. Her face darkened when she saw Sapphire, and started to back away.

??? (purple tiger): How dare you come into the queen's palace!

Sapphire: I dare, but only for some answers.

Fang: Do you have any idea where they keep the Vampire prisoners?

The tiger hesitated before answering coldly.

???: ... I do, but what's it to you?

Fang waved his arm carelessly.

Fang: None of you're business, young lady.

Sapphire: Hang on there, Fang. Why not?

Fang: It's dangerous enough that we allowed Barak to wait outside, in the open waters waiting for us, we don't need to be any more reckless.

Sapphire: Since when are you ever sensible?

Fang: ... Hardly ever?

Sapphire: Exactly, so I have no reason to listen to you... Y'see, uh...

Polly (purple tiger): ... It's Polly. Or, more accurately, was...

Sapphire: Right. Y'see, Polly, we're looking for some Vampire slaves, who happen to be friends of ours... Know anything about that?

Polly: Of course! I'm a former slave, so I know a thing or two about Vampire slaves.

Sapphire: Great! Can you tell us where they keep them?

Polly: I can't do that, I'm sorry.

Fang: Why not?

Polly: I've sworn obedience to the queen, and if I break it... well, it isn't very pleasant.
 
Sapphire: You get kicked in the shin?

Polly: Worst. They break my spell.

Sapphire: Spell? Like your sea charm?

The tiger nodded, and pointed to the seashell amulet hanging from her neck.

Polly: Since we're so deep underwater, it's impossible to go back to the surface without drowning. Even with help.

Sapphire: So why not do it at the surface?

Polly: That's the thing - all of us Vampires are bound to this place - move more then a few hundred sharks away from the sorcerer keeping the spell on you, and it breaks...

Fang: And you can't take this sorcerer with you?

Poppy: He's being kept in a guarded room, watched all hours of the day, never let out.

Fang: So even if the sorcerer wanted to help, he couldn't.

Sapphire: Hmm... This got tricky. How are we suppose to free everybody without drowning them?

Fang: We can work out the details later. For now-

Poppy suddenly darted behind a nearby statue.

Sapphire: Hey, what are you...?

And a few seconds later, some armed sea creatures came racing towards them, armed with pointy swords.

Sea Guards: INTRUDERS!!!

Fang: ... We should get out of here.

Sapphire: For once, I agree.

Meanwhile, Barak was waiting for Sapphire and Fang to come back out of the palace.

Barak: ... What's keeping them?

Suddenly, there seemed to be a lot of noise somewhere in the building. Barak tried to get a closer look, when he noticed Sapphire swimming out of the palace quite quickly. He also noticed a bunch of sea creatures following her, and decided to put a stop to it.

He rushed towards Sapphire and grabbed hold of her hand and just like slow lightning, they were miles away from the ocean palace.

... Eventually they stopped, and Barak crashed into the sand and dropped Sapphire.

Barak: Did I do good?

Sapphire: Give me a second... I think I lost my stomach back in another life...

Barak: Do you want me to go and fetch it?

Sapphire: ... No. I think I'll be ok. Just don't do that ever again without asking me first.

Barak: Ok! Oh, and... What was that?

Sapphire: A two man army...

Barak: Did you learn anything new?

Fang: A little. It's better than none, I guess.

Barak: ... What's the plan now?

Sapphire: We-

Fang: We get something to eat! I'm starving!

And before Sapphire could stop them, Fang grabbed hold of Barak's ear and directed him to the surface. They both zoomed off, leaving her behind in a cloud of sand.
