Christmas Rebirth

Hah. Well, how are you lot doing? I've been quite busy this week... Family coming over to visit, cousins to entertain, Christmas shenanigans to do...
Not to mention getting baptized with my sister. That took a little bit of my time. :)

Because of the mayhem of everything, I wasn't sure if I was going to draw something special for it or not. But an entire afternoon before the event and a brand new toy for me to draw on found me itching to at least try.

So here's what I've done!

First time drawing with my new Christmas Gift! It was a little weird, but I think I'm warming up to it quite quickly.
In a week's time I'll be wondering how I managed to draw for so long with my old tablet, I bet. XD

Anyway! Suffice to say I've had a pretty special Christmas this year!

And I'll be... *checks calendar* seeing you lot next year!
Dang.
This year is almost over.

Y'know, despite 2020 being horrible in a lot of ways, I think this was one of my best years so far? Sure, I've been stressed, but I've been learning how to deal with it, and I know I'm coping a lot better than 17 year old me did. Burnouts? Yeah, I've had a few. But I've also had so many drawing highs it's been kinda ridiculous? I've made almost twice as many comics as I did last year? That's pretty cool. (It's still not a lot, but it's a step in the right direction!)

And I'm just... Frankly, I'm content. I'm content with myself at the moment.
It's not always I can say that truthfully.

*huff*
*raises a hand in salute*

I'll be seeing you dorks on the other side!
Have a great new year.
Here's expecting the next 12 months to be slightly better than the low bar of the last 12! *pfft*
Ah we're probably jinxing ourselves...
Well. We'll give it a good go, anyway! >:)

Death and a Snake

If I could think of anything witty or nonsensical to say, I would. As it is, I'm still feeling like I've got too much going on in my head to bother with such things. Plus, I wish to get this over with so I can go and read something.

Also my brain is still being annoying, so we'll have to settle with a sketchy post instead of what I was originally hoping for tonight. But that's fine; pretty sure none of us care that much anyway. Plus, it's OverKill related! :)

Mortality is pretty fun to draw. Hard, but fun. I like drawing old patchy sweaters and big round glasses...
Definitely contrasts to Dr. Antidote's more formal appearance, anyway.

Also weird colourful eyes.

*Hmmm*

Yup. Guess it's just one of those days again.
I'll be catching you guys later! Gonna just quit for the day and try to relax.
*waves*

Hope you all have a nice week! <3

The Personification of the Will to Live and an Old Retired Detective

Hhmmkay just type out words to form a sentence, comeonyoucandoit, it's not rocket science..

*slams sketch onto table and takes a step back*

Head filled with cotton. Too much traffic going through my fuzzy brain...

Enjoy a ridiculously tall grumpy being of pure spite with his favorite human companion.

Making Better Life Choices is something Other People do. I shall instead Look Out of the Window with my Murderous Pokemon and Plot how Best to Ruin the Entire Ocean.

Ah, December. Season of heat waves, mangoes, and ginger bread cookies. Of staying up late playing video games, reading or chatting until the wee hours of the morning. And chocolate.

As well as kicking back in my favorite chair so I can work harder and longer for days on end, because the School Routine has been dismissed until January. There is still an outside structure dictating when I must stop, but that is necessary, because otherwise I doubt I would stop. If only out of principle.
And my principles demand to be heeded.

But anyway. I didn't post last week because a) didn't have any prepared, b) I was on a brief seaside holiday and had no internet, and c) didn't have the emotional energy to care.

But I'm here this week. And it's something fanart (and fanfiction) related!

This picture is based on a fic me and my elder sister have been working on since last year. We've just gotten to the point where the main antagonist(?)  is properly introduced, as well as her Beheeyem.

Beheeyem would have to be one of my favorite Psychic type Pokemon ever. Hypno is a close second, but it's not nearly as fun to draw. And the Gothitelle line is fun to use in game (especially if I get a male Gothita), but trench coats trump ribbons any day. Also cool flashing finger lights.

Dark types are more my flavor, but I can respect Psychic types for what they are.

Heh. I think I also spent more time on the background then I did on the characters. WELL.. okay, maybe 50/50. Drawing someone from behind is never easy, and the amount of good references you need in order to be confident to even START drawing deserves it's own little time table, but I'm digressing.
Rain is a pain. Especially moody rain with lightning. But I think it turned out cool, so I'll say no more on the subject.

Hm. Well, I've had enough of this. I wish to do something else now.
*Salutes myself out* Have a good one, folks!

Kitchen Visit

Hm. Nearing ever closer to December, I see... Feels like it should already be over to me. But it's not.

...

The Laptop hasn't been treating me well this week. Drawing on paper has felt a lot more natural and painless then anything I've tried to do on CSP. Which sucks, but what else can you do? I'm riding it out the best I can.
But obviously I still needed to post something on here. So I dug around in my folders and found this little unfinished picture of mine.

So here it is. I guess.

Drew this back in mid October, but never got around to finishing it (or posting it)... I think it was one of those Inspired moments that go as quickly as they come. But that was fine, because it meant I could draw the Castle Kitchen for the first time.
A very important location in UV. Well, for the children anyway...

Backgrounds give me a lot of trouble. Especially ones where I have such a clear mental picture in my head from like... hours of daydreaming.
Which is weird because that feels like that should give you less trouble. But it doesn't.

Anyway. The little Charles spaniel cook is one character that's firmly rooted in Midnight's permanent staff. Her real job is at a little bakery a few streets down, but she spends a lot of her time helping Midnight prepare meals for all his starving orphans.
She's sweet and very practical, and enjoys all the shenanigans at Sanctuary Castle with a good sense of humor.
Pretty sure she eventually marries one of Reginald's brothers, too. So yay for strong blood-thirsty wolf husbands!
She was fun to draw. Very round and curly and petite~ <3

The kids are just... generic, I guess. Although I have come up with some fun powers for Sunny (the rabbit). His ability is kinda healing magic? But solar powered. So if he scratches himself or something his body just regenerates super fast if the sun is out.
And the opposite is true if it's cloudy; his body just doesn't know what to do and kinda does nothing to help his bruises and cuts if it's dark.
So you'll either see him super bright and healthy or covered in scars that refuse to heal. There is no middle ground.

He'll make for a fun adventurer, that's for sure...

But that's enough of that for now.
I'll be meandering off into the sunset. Got nothing else to write about anyway.

I hope you guys have a nice weekend, wherever you are and whatever your doing.
*waves*

HufflePuff Girl

Whelp, almost 8 now. Haha, but I don't mind.

This week has been a whole lot better for me than last week. Low bar, sure, but I'm actually pretty happy right now.

Got the new Steam Powered Giraffe album this week, as well as drew a lot of Pokemon stuff, and I'm almost at the Elite 4 in my Nuzlocke game. Only one other Pokemon has died on me so far, but nothing I couldn't recover from.
That's pretty good in my books!

Anyway, here's what I've decided to share with you all tonight!

Ooh, a Harry Potter Wizard Girl with Spider~ I wonder who this could be?

I thought it would be best to do something easily and fun for a change, instead of pushing myself to new and difficult heights that would've brought me to tears even in a good mood. So when a Harry Potter song came up in my Discover Weekly list on Spotify, I was like "... Eh, sure. Let's draw a HufflePuff wizard. Nothing else is working today."

The HP dress code is basically everything I love? Long robes with hoods, fancy colourful ties and the potential for fun patterns and skirts.. It's great! And so satisfying to draw.

It was also the first thing in a few weeks that didn't feel like pulling teeth. *thumbs up*

Anyway. It's pretty late, and I have things to do now.
See you all next week, then. <3

It's Friday Afternoon, not Saturday Night... *shock*

Okay, so I just started doing my drawing exercises a literal minute ago and I'm now crying.
I have no idea why this keeps happening. I've been crying almost all week any time I try to draw something.

It's now been three weeks, brain. I have Things to Do. I don't want to take another week off because you feel like any frustration is intolerable, so you shut everything down...
This isn't fun.

I have Things to Do!

(...)

These two drawings were the only things I could manage this week. I don't mind them, but I don't love them either.
I literally can't do better than this.

I'm tired of crying when there's work to be done.
If this happens for a 4th week in a row I'm calling fowl.

Passing Through (Y Nuzlocke Challenge)

Yeah, I really need to start preparing these posts ahead of time during the summer months... I mean, I literally had no choice this time, because I decided I should stop being so stubborn and actually take a break from drawing this week (as apposed to stop drawing-WORK... apparently there isn't a difference when you've got art block. *sigh*) so yeah. Probably gonna bail early. Because it's already past 7:30. And I have Cousin-Duties to perform.

I actually really wanted to talk about the new Pokemon Nuzlocke challenge I've been doing this week, but I can easily do that next week. When I'm a bit more organized.
Maybe more than two Pokemon will die before then. Give me something real depressing to talk about.
*places hand on chest* You will be sorely missed, River and Richard...

I'm loving the story that's going on in my head with these guys, though. It's been a nice distraction from being stressed about not working.
And it's been like, almost 5 years since I've lasted played through XY. That too.

A Fruitloop with his Cat

Hm. Just as the week when I was planning to do some serious drawing rolls in, I got myself a classical case of artblock.

*Huff* Well, I SUPPOSE it has been a while since that's happened... But it's still annoying.
Been trying to take advantage(?) of it though, by drawing a buncha things I don't normally draw. Such as robots.

The frustration is real, but at least it's in my control. As apposed to out of my control, in which case I would be more depressed, and possibly more stressed (if that's even possible).

But my brain cooperated long enough so I could draw this for my weekly Saturday Night Post, so that's pretty cool.
Haven't been able to draw anything else since then, but that's to be expected.

And in other news, my early Christmas spirit has surfaced again. Dunno what I'm gonna do with it, but I am enjoying the vibes I'm feeling in my own personal atmosphere.
Yes, I'm aware Halloween hasn't happened yet.
*Turns on some rock-n-roll Holiday tunes and continues to enjoy myself*

See all you guys next week! Hopefully things will improve by then. Both for me and for you lot. :)

Tropical Break on the Amphur Resort

HI! I was meaning to try and draw something else before tonight, but I guess I'm posting this instead. Not that it's a bad picture. It's a very nice picture. One I'm quite proud of. But I wanted to be extra and make something different. Like you do.

Anyway, here it is. Hamish the Human and Rask the big ol' alien dragon thing.

I'd stick around and talk, but I'm going to be late for my weekly gaming session with my cousins if I do. And by late, I mean they'll call early and I'll panic and drop everything because I'm unorganized.
I should probably just start preparing these posts the night before, shouldn't I?
But why would I do a thing like that, anyway? *pfft* Ridiculous. X)

Anyway. Ta-ta, then! *swiftly exits the building in grand style*

Airport Adventure (I.I.)

Uh.. I have a little something more from my space world.
Took three painstaking days to complete it (again), but I've finally done it!

Sure, it's not what I wanted it to look like, but I'm still proud with what I've done with it. *shrug* Art be like that sometimes. :)

Drew a few more of the crew this time. Aside from the four we saw from last time (OVER HERE), we also have Olivia (other human), Merc (white fuzz-bucket), Thorp (angry brown fuzz-bucket), and... that other worried black-clad dude.
Haven't settled on a permanent name for him yet. Working on it, though, don't worry.
I want it to start with an M. Kinda like Marcus, but more... alien sounding.

*HUFF* That background, tho!
I originally wanted them to be inside a kinda space-port, with lots of spaceships and cargo everywhere, but I guess they're at the entrance to an international airport now. Because I had no idea how to draw what was in my mind...
But this works too... basically the same kettle of fish, anyway.

Drawing the background aliens was kinda fun. A little time consuming, sure, but not as much as I was expecting.
Just kinda... made them up on the spot, without putting much thought into them. Generic, sure, but they served their purpose.

Anyway. It's past 8pm now, and I need to get some dinner.
See ya all next week!
Hope you survive until then.
*thumbs up*

Reginald + Castle Trio

My third unintentional UV post within two weeks, huh?
Alrighty, then. I'm not one to complain about a thing like that...

Have some fuzzy brats with uncle Reginald, folks! :)

Since I'm a little pressed for time, I'm not gonna say anything cool or go into detail about these characters. This was just a neat age exercise with the Castle Trio. And Reginald to some degree...

*Salutes myself out*
SEE YA LATER FOLKS!
Hope you do alright next week!

Bush Walk

Hello, there. Hope everyone out there is fine right now. I'm pretty good. A little tired, but satisfied with how my week has been. I've been working really hard.

So hard, in fact, that I wasn't sure if I was going to come up with something for this week's Saturday post. But I scraped in a little something from my leftover reserves... and made this.

I realized the song Plant Life by Owl City fitted pretty perfectly for Ruby's early childhood, and as a result of that I drew this yesterday afternoon before sunset.

It's not often I get inspired to draw something, and then actually do it... It was novel. I liked it. And I didn't give up halfway, either.
True, probably could've done a cleaner job, but I'm still pretty happy with it.

Few people realize what a dreamer Ruby really is, and just how lonely she was before she made the decision to go to school. Against what everyone else tried to tell her too, nonetheless.
As much as she liked her privacy and freedom at the old cottage in EverWinter forest, Grandma was less then great company for a girl like Ruby. They were too similar to get along, I think. And her parents.. well, she (both Ruby and Grandma) felt they weren't allowed to have a say in a life they barely knew.

UV's 6th Anninersary

Whelp. After a busy day doing comic stuff, and about an hour trying to finish this piece before it ticked over to the 25th, I think it's time I celebrated my blog's birthday. How 'bout you?

Heh. It's kinda weird how I've been posting on this blog for 6 years, though. My cute shenanigan stories about an Anthropomorphic Vampire kangaroo and her various friends and relatives has turned into quite the adventure since then!

And despite my typical radio-silence about the subject, I'm still deeply passionate about the world of Undercover Vamparoo. Very much so.

It's a top priority in terms of me wanting to make it a graphic novel series or something, but I realize in order for me to make it a reality, I need a lot of self-training and discipline. And courage.
That last one will be the hardest to overcome, but I have time to work that out.

But I'm tired now. I think I'll go read for a bit and let this day end...
For those of you who (for some reason) are still here, or just the odd person who likes checking up on my blog every blue moon *raises cup* cheers. I bid you all goodnight! *drinks fruit-juice*

Cherry Chums

Heyo, folks! I'm back another week, ready to share something else on this little site I call my blog! :)

I made this as a commemorative to getting cherry trees in Animal Crossing. Considering we don't have any online friends to swap fruit with, this was quite an achievement in our eyes!

Free-Falling

*Cracks knuckles and pulls out massive picture from behind curtains*
BEHOLD, THE FRUITS OF THREE DAYS WORK, MORTALS!

(*Sigh* Seriously, though. It's been a while since I've drawn something properly outlined and shaded. Not the full-ham work I probably could've done, though, but this is fine.)

Just some of the dudes from my space-adventure world; Rask (big black dude), Bur (small fuzzy one), Sabassa (lizard man), and Hamish (actual man).
(And Ghost, but of course you can't see him because he's inside Hamish's brain. Soo... Does he count?)
(Eh, I'm counting him. Ghost is important.)

Drawing all that flying paper was a mixture between too much fun and having no clue what I was doing. But I think it turned out alright in the end.
Sabassa desperately trying to save some important documents was a must. Hamish's art stuff, while not exactly relevant, was also a must for me. Because.. Well, I love a good boy who draws stuff. :)

I was planning to draw some sort of futuristic weapon for Rask, but I realized that would mean I'd have to draw it. And I was not about to do that. And Bur is still an unexplored character (in terms of personalized items and junk), so I left him alone as well.

I guess the picture was crowded enough as it was, so it's probably just as well.

Firework Show

Ah, September's here. That means no more Winter; only Summer from here on out.
*Huff*

One morning it was cold enough to get half-buried under the covers, and the next it's too hot for a quilt and we almost had to turn on the air conditioner.
*Swings arm out* That's Australia, folks!

(From left to right; Paula, Peggy, Buzz, Zell, and Savannah)

Took about three days to complete this - the first day (or night, more accurately) was the sketch and 'better sketch' (yeah, I didn't bother line-arting this. I knew it wasn't going to be worth it in the long run...). Day 2 was the flat colours and patterns, and then day three background, shading, and special effects.

It was only meant to be a small picture, but I guess I kept adding characters. Like you do.
It amuses me how short Zell is in comparison to like... literally everyone else, though. It's cute.

Race through Pine Woods

Hi there! Back for more punishment, huh? *claps hands* EXCELLENT.

Let's get on with it, then!

More stuff of our Animal Crossing (New Horizons) Villagers! Paula the bear with Tank the rhino, having some friendly competition with each other.

The poses were kinda hard to work with, but I think it came out alright in the end. Background wasn't too bad, either.
Loved designing Tank's shirt. And if Paula had her jacket unzipped, I bet I would've given her something fun too..
Maybe later. :)

Sun Shower

Evening, all! For those few folks that return frequently, let me just say I hope you've had a good week. Or at least a week that doesn't deserve the award for #1 worst experience, and 10/10 would not try again.
While not unlikely, it's still possible. And if so, I hope the coming days improve. :)

Anyway. Time for art, I think!

Something simple, but I did what I could with the time I was giving myself. I've got a lot of things planned to do tonight... Can't just exhaust myself right out the gate. :)

This is one of our Animal Crossing (New Horizons) villagers, in a more human-like form. Peggy's cool. Her personality is a lot more intense than the others, but that's what makes her so delightful~

Was quite proud of how the trees came out. I think drawing lots of backgrounds over the past week+ will do that to a person, though.
*thunbs up*

Picnic Lunch!

Hello, again! It's been getting warmer for me lately. Winter's (loose) grip is slipping away again. As it does so quickly in Australia...
But maybe I can enjoy a few more odd nights of not sweating under a thin quilt. Fingers crossed. :)

Anyway! All that I wish to tell you guys about my week is that I had a very productive Thursday drawing (about 8 hours in total) and I'm very excited about the current project I'm working on!

I fear if I say anything more than that, though, I could be liable to become super anxious and stressed because then people would have EXPECTATIONS of me actually finishing and showing it to them. And I don't want that.
I really don't want that.

So I'll show you something related but also completely unrelated at the same time! :)

Humanized versions of two of our Animal Crossing (New Horizons) villagers! Frita the Ram and Walker the dog.

I've been drawing them a lot lately. It's almost been like therapy, because I see them and chat to them so much in-game.
It's been nice.
